Wyld is an eroded impact crater spanning 103.4 kilometers in diameter on the far side of the Moon, located beyond the eastern limb. It lies in a region sometimes brought into view from Earth under favorable libration and illumination, though even then the crater is seen from the edge and little detail can be observed.
Wyld lies to the northeast of the larger Hirayama and to the west of Saha, with the small crater Fox attached to its northern outer rim. The crater is worn and eroded, leaving an uneven outer rim that is now little more than a roughly circular ridge in the surface.
In the northern half of the floor, a merged pair of craters partly overlaps the northern rim. The remainder of the interior floor is marked by small craterlets. The feature is named for American rocketry scientist James Hart Wyld.
