Geological Chronicle

Vilʹev is an eroded lunar impact crater that is located on the far side of the Moon. The formation spans an official diameter of 45.83 kilometers.

It lies to the west of the much larger crater Chaplygin, and to the north of Marconi. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-84.
