Vega is an eroded lunar impact crater that is located in the southeastern part of the Moon. The formation spans an official diameter of 73.51 kilometers.
It lies on the near side and so can be viewed from the Earth. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-115.
The International Astronomical Union officially approves the crater name.
