Geological Chronicle

Störmer is a lunar impact crater that is located on the far side of the Moon from the Earth, named after Carl Størmer, a Norwegian mathematician and aurora researcher. The formation spans an official diameter of 68.62 kilometers.

It lies in the northern part of the lunar surface, to the southeast of the crater Olivier and to the north of van Rhijn. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-17.
