Stebbins is a lunar impact crater measuring 129.74 kilometers across on the far side of the Moon. The feature sits along the north-northeastern rim of the larger crater Birkhoff, with about one-third of Stebbins laid across Birkhoff's interior. The smaller crater Hippocrates lies to the north, with Sommerfeld positioned to the west.
The crater is worn and eroded, marked by smaller impacts along the rim edge and floor. The most notable of these overlays the northwestern rim. The interior floor is relatively flat, broken by a central ridge offset to the northeast of the midpoint. A small craterlet marks the floor southeast of this ridge, while a small hill and the outer rim of a partly submerged craterlet lie to the southwest.
