Geological Chronicle

Sinus Honoris, translating from Latin as the Bay of Honor, sits along the western edge of Mare Tranquillitatis on the lunar near side. Measuring 111.61 kilometers across, the bay features a wide mouth bordered by uneven terrain to the north and southwest.

Where the bay joins the mare, rille systems extend to the north and south. The northern system is designated Rimae Maclear, after the crater Maclear just to the east of the bay, while Rimae Sosigenes lies at the southern entrance. At the west end of the bay, a finger of mare surface extends to the northwest for nearly 100 kilometers.
