Geological Chronicle
Shatalov is a relatively small lunar impact crater on the far side of the Moon. The formation spans an official diameter of 24.05 kilometers.
It is located to the west-southwest of the Mare Moscoviense, one of the few lunar maria on the far side. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-48.
