Lunar Impact Crater
Sampson is a lunar impact crater spanning 1.83 kilometers across the Moon.
Sampson is a relatively tiny lunar impact crater located near the central part of the Mare Imbrium. The formation spans an official diameter of 1.83 kilometers.
It was named after British astronomer Ralph Allan Sampson. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-40.
The International Astronomical Union officially approves the crater name.
