Geological Chronicle
Rupes Kelvin is a lunar escarpment extending 85.92 kilometers across the near side of the Moon near Promontorium Kelvin in the Mare Humorum quadrangle. Located at selenographic coordinates 28.03°S and 33.17°W, the escarpment takes its name from the adjacent promontory, which was named after the Irish physicist and engineer William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin.
