Geological Chronicle

Rheita is a lunar impact crater located in the southwestern sector of the Moon. The formation spans an official diameter of 70.81 kilometers.

It was named after Czech astronomer and optician Anton Maria Schyrleus of Rheita. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-114.
