Reinhold is a prominent lunar impact crater spanning 43.28 kilometers in diameter on Mare Insularum, located to the south-southwest of Copernicus. To its southwest lies the slightly smaller crater Lansberg. The feature is named after the sixteenth-century German astronomer and mathematician Erasmus Reinhold.
Dating to the Eratosthenian period, Reinhold has terraced interior walls and irregular outer ramparts visible against the flat surface of the mare. Its interior floor is relatively featureless with only a few low rises, while the low, flooded crater Reinhold B sits just to the northeast.
