Promontorium Fresnel, translated from Latin as "Cape Fresnel," is a headland at the northern end of the Montes Apenninus range on the lunar near side. Situated within the LAC-41 quadrangle at coordinates 28.63°N, 4.75°E, the feature spans a diameter of 20 kilometers.
The mountainous cape serves as a boundary separating Mare Serenitatis and Mare Imbrium. Just west of the headland lies Rimae Fresnel. Both features were named in honor of French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel.
