Geological Chronicle

Promontorium Agassiz is a mountainous cape situated along the northeast margin of Mare Imbrium on the near side of the Moon. Spanning 18.84 kilometers across, it lies south of Promontorium Deville and Mons Blanc, northeast of Mons Piton, and northwest of Cassini crater.

The International Astronomical Union officially approved the feature's name in 1935, honoring Jean Louis Rodolphe Agassiz, a Swiss zoologist and geologist.
