Geological Chronicle

Pons is a lunar impact crater that is located to the west of the prominent Rupes Altai scarp. The formation spans an official diameter of 39.7 kilometers.

It was named after French astronomer Jean-Louis Pons. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-96.
