Geological Chronicle

Pitiscus is a lunar impact crater that lies in the southern part of the Moon's near side, just to the northwest of the larger crater Hommel. The formation spans an official diameter of 79.85 kilometers.

It was named after German mathematician Bartholomaeus Pitiscus in 1935. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-127.
