Milanković is a worn impact crater situated in the high northern latitudes on the Moon's far side, spanning 94.21 kilometers in diameter. Located just north of Karpinskiy and south of the prominent crater Plaskett, the formation has an eroded, distorted outer boundary. It is named for the Yugoslavian astronomer Milutin Milanković (1879–1958).
In the northwestern quadrant of the crater interior, the terrain forms what appears to be a double rim. Along this edge, the outer rim is circular but shallow, while the inner rim forms a somewhat linear shelf extending from the north to the west. The rest of the perimeter is rounded and uneven.
The crater's interior floor is partially reshaped by crater Ricco, a smaller and more sharply defined neighbor overlapping the southeastern rim whose outer rampart covers that section of the floor. The rest of the floor is relatively level, marked only by low hills near the midpoint.
