Geological Chronicle

Mariotte is an elongated crater that is located on the far side of the Moon, named after the physicist Edme Mariotte. The formation spans an official diameter of 70.27 kilometers.

This formation is located about one crater diameter to the southwest of the smaller Das. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-106.
