Geological Chronicle
Lexell is a lunar impact crater that lies across the southeastern rim of the huge walled plain named Deslandres, in the southern part of the Moon. The formation spans an official diameter of 63.7 kilometers.
It was named after Swedish-Russian mathematician and astronomer Anders Johan Lexell. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-112.
