Geological Chronicle

Dorsum Von Cotta is a wrinkle ridge located within Mare Serenitatis on the Moon. Extending 183 kilometers, the feature trends south to north at approximately the lunar 12th parallel.

Hornsby crater is located to the east of the ridge, while the collapse feature Aratus CA lies to the west. To the south is Dorsum Buckland.

The ridge was officially named in 1976 in honor of German geologist Bernhard von Cotta.
