Geological Chronicle

Dorsa Sorby is a wrinkle ridge system in southern Mare Serenitatis on the Moon, spanning 76.03 kilometers across the lunar surface. Located in the Mare Serenitatis quadrangle (LAC-42) at coordinates 18.65°N, 13.70°E, the feature lies within the southern basin region.

The feature is parallel with the larger wrinkle ridge Dorsum Buckland. It is also roughly in line with Rimae Sulpicius Gallus to the northwest and with Rimae Menelaus to the southeast.

The ridge was named after Henry Clifton Sorby, a British geologist and Earth scientist, in 1976.
