Geological Chronicle

Donna is a small depression situated at the crest of Omega Cauchy, a lunar dome in eastern Mare Tranquillitatis. Measuring 1.84 kilometers in diameter, the feature is thought to be volcanic in nature, created by an eruption rather than an impact.

The dome lies south of Rupes Cauchy, a surface fault forming a series of cliffs south of the crater Cauchy. Observing the summit vent requires a telescope of at least 150 millimeters to resolve.

The designation Donna is an Italian female given name that does not refer to a specific person. The International Astronomical Union officially approved the name in 1979.
