Clairaut is a lunar impact crater that is located in the rugged southern highlands of the Moon's near side. The formation spans an official diameter of 76.89 kilometers.

It is readily identified by a pair of craters on its interior floor. It is recorded in the IAU Gazetteer under quadrangle LAC-113.
