Carmichael is a lunar impact crater that is located along the eastern edge of the mare surface named Sinus Amoris, in the northeastern quadrant of the Moon's near side. The formation spans an official diameter of 19.73 kilometers.

The feature is situated in the Macrobius quadrangle (LAC-43). It is officially cataloged by the International Astronomical Union at selenographic coordinates 19.5342° latitude and 40.3619° longitude.
